Chris Padgett
Founder & CEO
Chris Padgett is the Founder and Executive Director of HUB Transition Centers. With more than 20 years of experience in addiction recovery, trauma support, and mental health counseling, Chris is deeply committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives and move toward lasting stability.
An ordained minister, Chris is a certified Addiction and Recovery Counselor, Complex Trauma Specialist, and Certified Mental Health Coach. His work is rooted in compassion, faith, and practical support for those navigating life transitions.
In addition to his leadership at HUB Transition Centers, Chris is the CEO of HUB Ventures, LLC, where he invests in real estate and develops affordable housing initiatives that help create pathways to stability and independence for individuals and families.

Frank J. Grand III
Board Chair
Frank Grand is the Founder and CEO of Grand Consulting LLC and brings more than 40 years of leadership, coaching, and training experience across the public, private, and military sectors. As an executive and life coach, Frank has dedicated his career to helping individuals and organizations reach their highest level of effectiveness.
His recent work focuses on supporting individuals struggling with addiction and guiding them toward personal growth and lasting change. Frank also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Frank holds master’s degrees in Management and Human Services, a bachelor’s degree in History, and is a certified Life Coach. He is also a graduate of the United States Army War College and the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and completed the Senior Executives Fellows program at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Charlie Petit
Board Member
Charlie Petit serves as a volunteer leader supporting the mission of HUB Transition Centers. Originally from Fall River, Massachusetts, Charlie has dedicated many years to prison ministry, recovery support, and community outreach.
He has facilitated and co-facilitated programs focused on faith-based life skills, job readiness, and family restoration for incarcerated individuals, including work at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections Adult Correctional Institutions and the Leath Correctional Institution.
Charlie has also served as a trainer with Northeast Prison Ministries and spoken at prison ministry awareness events throughout the Northeast.
Today, he continues to serve the community through recovery initiatives and outreach efforts that support individuals experiencing homelessness and life transition.

Rick Faulks
Board Chair Elect
Rick Faulks is an attorney and community advocate who supports the mission of HUB Transition Centers through his commitment to service, faith, and justice. A native of South Carolina born in Greenville, South Carolina, Rick spent much of his life in the Charlotte, North Carolina area before returning to South Carolina.
Rick earned his law license in 2018 and previously served with South Carolina Legal Services, providing legal assistance to individuals and families in need. He now operates a private law practice in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Rick and his family attend New Covenant Church, where he serves on the safety team and, along with his wife, leads a small group in their home.

Justo Chalaire
Board Member
Justo Chalaire brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work supporting healthier communities and recovery initiatives.
Rooted in the Upstate of South Carolina, Justo’s personal journey through mental health challenges, substance use recovery, incarceration, and homelessness has shaped his passion for advocacy, community health, and systems change.
He currently serves as Director of Community Impact at United Way of the Lakelands, where he leads regional initiatives that address health disparities and improve community outcomes.
Through his leadership and service, Justo is committed to helping individuals and communities move from adversity toward lasting transformation.

Walt Willard
Board Member
Walt Willard brings a lifetime of service, leadership, and community involvement to HUB Transition Centers. Born in Maryland, Walt lived throughout the United States before earning a degree in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley and serving as an instructor in the United States Navy.
Walt later built a career in the international banking industry as a programmer and project manager in the information technology field. After retiring, he and his wife Claire relocated to Greenwood, South Carolina in 2013.
Today, Walt remains active in his church and volunteers with several local organizations, supporting recovery efforts and community initiatives throughout Greenwood County.
